Following successes in Japan, China and South Korea, ProLogis, the leading logistics property developer, is now active in India as well. The joint venture set up with K. Raheja Corp., India’s largest property developer, will acquire land, develop properties and manage assets and will focus on securing development opportunities in the cities of Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Pune. The joint venture already has acquired 11 hectares of land in Loni near Pune and is in advanced stages of land acquisition in other key markets. Overall, the company expects to develop approximately 697 thousand square metres over the next three years while total investments could reach 575 million dollars. Over the next five years development of about 2.3 million square metres has been targeted.
